EARLY POSTCARD IN COLOUR OF "THE CURFEW BELL" IN LEADHILLS,SCOTLAND.
Originally built in 1770 this bell was rung as a wake up call in the early morning to call the miners to work in the lead mines, and, also as an alarm for a mining accident.
Dating from around 1900 to 1910 this original early coloured post card is unused and is part of the W.H.Scott's series.
